In our region, fish farming is an integral part of angling; however, fish consumption is increasing as well (a significant part of angled fish enters our cuisine). That’s the reason why the strategy of G2O, d. o. o. is focused mainly on fish hatching for the repopulation of angling waters.
Our priorities are autochthonous fish species, mostly those attractive for angling. In the last few years, we made great efforts to popularize some autochthonous species that are currently not as interesting to anglers as some others.
We have invaluable experience with the intensive breeding of wild carp (Cyprinus carpio carpio), pike (Esox lucius), pike-perch (Sander lucioperca), tench (Tinca tinca), asp (aspius aspius), Leuciscus. idus, Chondrostoma nasus and roach (Rutilus pigus) and in the near future, we plan to breed Lota lota, Barbus barbus, Carassius carassius and some others.
Our primary task is mostly the production of 2-summer-old fish strong enough to have good chances of survival; they soon reach angling size in open waters. |
